I tried to make something that reflected on Ivan's mind and thinking than his body and situation. Ivan is physically trapped this causes his mind to be trapped as well. You cannot control somebody's thinking unless they are limited in some way. Ivan is limited to where he can go limiting his thinking as well. His mind is what's really trapped. Because when it comes to the brain you can think yourself out of any situation. However, imagination is as far as he can move. His brain is trapped in between four metaphorical walls. Locked up in it's own kind of cage, one with electrical wires. Wires in which if you touch will send you flying back to reality. A reality all of us have the privilege not to experience.

Julianna,
ReplyDeleteYour picture you drew was really good. It definitely pushed my thinking forward. I agree with everything that you said, except I think you should add more about what is happening in the book that causes his mind to be trapped. Overall your post was really good.
Juli,
ReplyDeleteThe picture you drew shows great understanding from the reading of the book. It shows a different connection to the thinking between the book. I completely agree with you: if your physical body is trapped, your mind is also trapped in a way. By having Ivan trapped - we can feel his imagination running.
