For this week's blog post, I decided to make a series of 3 drawings in one. The first drawing shows Ivan Denisovich (Shukhov) in the gulag, clearly trapped (as shown from the book itself: One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich). Image #1 is supposed to resemble Shukhov and his life in the gulag, where he basically is in 'torture'. The break in the middle of the image is to show the undefined of the 'other side'.

Image #2 is the transition between what Shukhov doesn't know.

Image #3 shows how the undefined could be freedom: something Ivan hasn't had in a long time. What is freedom for Ivan? Freedom could simply be no work for one day, while for us, students, it could be right to free speech in school. Due to Ivan not experiencing freedom for some time, he might not remember what freedom is itself.
